Works to develop the Bamenda urban crossing in two lanes in each direction, are going on. As at 2 May 2026, the company remained on site and the teams are carrying out pavement and drainage works as well as right-of-way clearance.

The report of works progress by the control mission shows that, as at 2 May 2026, the project is 26.09% complete. This progress can be summarised as follows: in addition to site installation, which is 54% complete, the clearance of the right-of-way is almost achieved, with 5.5 out of 6.5 km completed. General earthworks, whose execution has been made difficult by heavy rain, are being carried out over a 4.4 km, and pavement works, undertaken by Bun’s, are progressing. The sub-grade has been laid over 2.5–6.5 km; the platform implemented spans 2.1/6.5 km and the sub-base has been laid over 1.9 km. Prefabrication tasks are also underway, with 10 hydraulic structures completed as at 2 May 2026 and construction works for five further structures currently in progress. The prefabricated gutters cover a total of 4,538 metres, and those already installed extend over 3,384 metres. The relocation of utility networks is also advancing, with half of the route now cleared.
