Led by the Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, on 28 and 29 July 2026, the mid-term review of the 2026 Annual Work Plan (AWP) helped assess the progress of the 446 projects in the MINTP portfolio, identify constraints hindering their execution, and define actions needed to improve performance.

To date, the implementation rate for AWP objectives stands at 56.9%. Of the 23 projects slated for completion, 21 have been finalised. Among the 155 projects scheduled for delivery in 2026, 30 have been completed, including 165.9 km of paved roads, 146 km of maintained roads, and 1.269 linear metres of engineering structures.

The assessment highlights high-performing projects but also identifies constraints related to contracting procedures, financing, contractor mobilisation, rights-of-way clearance, and the security situation in certain areas.

At the conclusion of the first day of proceedings, the Minister of Public Works mandated measures to lifting the constraints, with the aim of accelerating project implementation and improving performance by the end of the 2026 financial year.
