During the commissioning of River Nyong Bridge at Malombo on 5 August 2926, the Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, reassured the population that investments will continue in their Division. In this vein, three types of work will be carried out: construction and rehabilitation of road infrastructure, maintenance of roads through resources transferred to RLA’s and conduct of technical studies for a gradual paving of other roads.
This drive will gain momentum, as contracts have been concluded and road projects programmed, the Minister of Public Works indicated on 5 August 2026, to the population of Nyong et Kellé. As takeaways from the ceremony, in the ten councils that make up the division, 296,84 km of roads and 56 linear metres of engineering structures are projected, for about 2.84 billion CFA francs. These interventions will be carried out in the councils of Biyouha, Bondjock, Bot-Makak, Dibang, Eséka, Makak, Matomb, Messondo, Ngog-Mapubi and Nguibassal, where works are under way thanks to transferred resources. In addition to these projects, several others are planned by MINTP, including the construction of Acrow steel bridges over rivers Malomba, Lihou and Télé, for a cost totalling 4.6 billion, the rehabilitation regional road Messondo–Eséka and the continuation of studies for the paving of priority roads in the division, and projects aimed at stabilising certain earth roads with hydraulic binder, namely regioal road Messondo–Eséka.
The Minister of Public Works equally announced that studies would continue for the implementation of new projects.
“Road projects are underway and many others will be carried out in Nyong-et-Kellé”, said the Minister of Public Works, while reminding that the division is also benefitting from the Yaoundé-Douala motorway.
As part of the policy to modernise and develop municipal roads and reinforce decentralisation process, the Minister of Public Works continues implementing the High Directives of the President of the Republic through transfer of resources to Regional and Local Authorities (RLA’s). This move aims at sustainably improving traffic conditions for the population and enable local development.
When commissioning the Nyong Bridge at Malombo on 5 August 2026, the Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel NGANOU DJOUMESSI, pointed out that the ten councils that make up the Nyong-et-Kellé Division have been allocated 8.86 billion CFA francs from 2018 to 2026. The main ones include Eséka (1.32 billion CFAF), Bot-Makak (1.06 billion CFAF), Makak (1.04 billion CFAF), Matomb (986.68 million CFAF) and Nguibassal (977.63 million CFAF).
The Minister equally indicated that several projects were ongoing thanks to these resources, in the division which has 2 920,72 km-long road network. In addition to the resources transferred, there are projects financed by MINTP from its Public Investment Budget, to improve traffic conditions and support econmic activities in Nyong-et-Kellé.
