On 27 July 2026, rehabilitation of the Maroua-Moutourwa road has been under way with teams mobilised along the road. The SOTCOCOG SA/STAPORT SA consortium, in charge of the project, is moving on with earthworks, laying of pavement, construction of hydraulic structures and production of materials necessary for project implementation.

The supply of untreated graded aggregates is progressing between KP 15+300 and KP 15+800, while adjustment of sub-base is ongoing between KP 20+450 and 21+800, following a test section deemed compliant with project technical prescriptions. Earthworks in widening area are about 95 % executed on the section between KP 0+000 and 32+175. Contractor is equally laying emphasis on hydraulic structures’ construction. To date, 19 technical blocks are complete, five diversions are operational, twenty hydraulic structures are executed, while works are ongoing for the remaining ones.
